The Devil's in the Details

While stripping the trailer, I came across 4 stabilizer bars.  Each bar has a line of holes drilled in it and mates with angled mounts located at each corner of the chasis.  The stabilizers slide up into the trailer walls during transport, and can be lowered again to help level the trailer.

A neat design!  However, when attempting to install these, I noticed one of the angled mounts was completely packed with dirt and rocks.  After a quick cleaning, I was able to mount the bars, but had no way of fixing them in position.  I temporarily solved this problem using roofing nails inserted into a hole at the desired height, but will need to devise a more permanent solution at some point.
